Konstkompis Konstkompis is a group of eleven artists, all from the Copenhagen and Malmoe area. They meet regularly to discuss their art projects, work processes and what else is on their mind. This is not an artist group in the traditional sense. In spite of a dynamic between the individual and the group – they sometimes experiment with collaborative works and exhibition practices – they have no manifesto or common plan or goal, rather it is an open and creative forum that functions as a support, source of inspiration, discussion forum, and so on, for those involved. Konstkompis started in 1999 when a group of three students at the Malmoe Art Academy decided they had a need to discuss their work process, projects and creative experience with like-minded. Since then the group has developed and grown, some have left, and others have joined. It is a flexible group that remains being Konstkompis, despite the influx of various people with different ideas. Konstkompis is first and foremost independently working artists, with their own oeuvres. But they are not isolated – they have chosen not to be monads in the art world. There are several points of contact between them, in terms of thematic and formal elements in their work, enabling them to take advantage of the dialogical build up of the group and let themselves be inspired by each other.
