Marked Memories - To Remember a Place
The project Marked Memories - To Remember a Place (2011) was both a workshop and an exhibition where 250 pupils and other visitors to the museum participated during one month. On the floor, there was a large piece of paper (200 x 200 cm), where all participants helped to draw a map of Ystad. They drew from their own memories and their own perceptions of the town. They were all given a sticker with a number which was placed on the map at the spot of a personal memory. The memory was noted down on a separate piece of paper with the same number as on the map. The memory was then placed in a filing cabinet which became an archive of memories. These memories will remain at the museum. During the exhibition, the visitors could read the memories and see the map taking shape in the middle of the room.
